Ok. Alright. I am a fan of Facebook and I like that. It’s no doubt the coolest social networking option around. And it tries to make itself even more popular by making changes that I guess users are supposed to like, right. Can its moves backfire? I guess at times it might.
exempli gratia, its likes and dislikes section of the individual profile. Now what I preferred to do was mention my current favs and all time favs. Might sound a little weird but the best part was I had that control to make that differentiation known, that freedom to maybe include the degree of my likes, if that’s what it was.
In other words, I could present myself through my FB profile the way I wanted to, the way I should be allowed to do.
Alas, Facebook had plans of its own. Now all it allows me to do is mention say FRIENDS in the Television section and that’s it. It, I guess, automatically makes me a fan of some page that now FB thinks I should be fan of or something like that. But maybe I beg to differ. Maybe I don’t want to. But I guess since I am using an application built by them , I should not have that choice.
The same is true for books, movies and all the information I used to enjoy playing with. But thanks to evolving FB, I can’t anymore. Now all I can proudly claim is that My Likes Aren’t Mine Anymore, at least not entirely.
